Surrealist Sangria

A new month comes with a fresh cocktail for you to enjoy while streaming all the episodes of the AUD.ACITY podcast! We made this cocktail in honor Frida Kahlo, the Mexican painter known for her self portraits and paintings inspired by popular Mexican culture. Described as surrealist painter, Frida was known for projecting her sadness into her paintings. Wildly unknown as an artist until 20 or so years after her death, Kahlo was deemed an icon for Chicanos feminist movement & the LGBTQ+ movement. Her titled work “The Two Fridas”, “The Wounded Deer,” and so many more are immortalized within the Latin Art Culture and Frida Kahlo is celebrated for her visionary work as a Surrealist painter.

Our Surrealist Sangria is quite the juxtaposition. Pairing contrasting flavor of tart citrus with the sweetness of strawberries makes for a captivating cocktail. We made this cocktail for two but it is best enjoyed with a group of friends!
