Family For Life Foundation
About Family For Life
Family For Life is a non profit foundation advocating for the underserved and vulnerable children and families of the world. Their mission is to advocate, their vision is to empower and their purpose to educate; by providing resources to the community.
Now let’s get into the details of the project! This project was a complete branding experience for Family For Life. We started with the logo and my vision for that was to display a sense of connectedness, especially across communities and generations hence why the “y’ in family & “f” in life connect. We wanted to portray the brand as inviting and happy so we picked a yellow as our primary color.
Once we found the foundation of the brand, I kind of just ran with what felt right to the brand. I incorporated yellow on the website and through the brand imagery, used a nice font hierarchy; that we could used throughout the collateral material and website.
My favorite aspect of this project is the quarterly resource magazine that we are currently working on!
Where do I begin with explaining the passion behind this project? I’ll start with why the mission of Family For Life is so near and dear to my heart. When I was 11, I met my forever family. Before that I was ward of the state, in the care of my biological grandmother. So what is a ward of the state? It is basically a very political way of saying I was in foster care. My parents adopted my three siblings and I, making the Bryson Bunch a family of 9! My situation was a rare case because kids who are pre teens and teens rarely get adopted and they end up aging out of the system. Plus getting adopted with three of your biological siblings is just as rare.
The entire essence of Family for Life is about advocating for the children who don’t have a voice and providing resources to these children that will allow them to succeed in life.
